Repair work prompts lane closure on westbound Whoop-Up

For the rest of the week, one lane on westbound Whoop-Up Drive will be closed as crews work on the University Siphon repair.

Last week, the City of Lethbridge noted a wastewater pipe leak in the river valley.

The City says the north lane will be closed starting at 9 a.m. each day and will reopen around 3:30 p.m. During the repair project, the southbound river valley pathway under Whoop-Up Drive will also be closed.

Officials say additional closures may be needed while work is being done and depending on the weather, the project is expected to be completed by Friday, January 31.
