Alberta Health Services has once again been notified of people with confirmed measles in the South Zone who have been in a public setting while infectious.Â
Individuals who were in the following locations during the specified dates and times may have been exposed to measles:Â
IGA TaberÂ
May 1: Exposure time: 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Taber Health CentreÂ
Emergency department – waiting roomÂ
Apr. 30: Exposure time: 8:26 p.m. – 12:13 a.m. (May 1) Â
May 3: Exposure time: 11:35 a.m. – 3:24 p.m. Â
May 5: Exposure time: 12:17 p.m. – 2:31 p.m.
Anyone who attended these locations at these times, who was born in or after 1970 and has fewer than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine, may be at risk for developing measles. Â
Measles is an extremely contagious disease and the virus spreads easily through the air.Â
If symptoms of measles do develop, individuals are advised to stay home and call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting any healthcare facility or provider, including a family physician clinic or pharmacy.Â
