Lethbridge Famers’ Markets set to kick off for summer

Farmers market season is around the corner, marking the beginning of summer.

The Lethbridge Farmers’ Market is planning to open next month with the first Saturday Farmers’ Market presented by UFA happening on June 14th, with the first Wednesday Downtown Farmers’ Market, which is put on in collaboration with the Downtown BRZ and 94.1 CJOC starting on July 2nd.

Director of Client Services with the Lethbridge & District Exhibition Deborah Gordon says the two markets are events the city looks forward to every year.

“While great for shoppers, the markets are also an important outlet for local vendors, who have the chance to grow their businesses and reach new customers. We’re excited for another great year,” Gordon says.

The Saturday Farmers Market, which is held in the Agri Food Hub and Trade Centre, will run every Saturday from June 14th to October 11th, excluding the Saturday of Whoop Up Days, which is August 23rd. While the Wednesday market, which is held in Festival Square, will run every Wednesday from July 2nd to August 27th.

The Lethbridge Farmers’ Market is Alberta approved, meaning 80 per cent of the products sold are made, baked, or grown in Alberta.
