Hurricanes announce home opener Sept. 19

The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club, in conjunction with the Western Hockey League, have announced their 2025-2026 Home Opener.

The Hurricanes will open the regular season Sept. 19, when they welcome the Calgary
Hitmen at 7 p.m. at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

It will mark the 10th time in team history the ‘Canes will host the Hitmen in their home opener and the first since the 2021-2022 season, when Lethbridge earned a 9-2 victory.

Lethbridge has posted a 5-2-0-0 record with two ties against Calgary in their previous nine meetings in the ‘Canes home openers, having won the last four dating back to the 2001-2002 season.

The Home Opener will be the first of the Hurricanes’ 68-game regular season schedule for the season and will be the first of eight meetings against Calgary. The Hurricanes posted a 2-5-1-0 record against the Hitmen last season, while going 1-3-0-0 at home during the regular season.

Lethbridge eliminated Calgary in seven games in the second-round of the 2025 WHL Playoffs.

The full regular season schedule will be announced the week of June 23.
