Lethbridge rent remains among lowest: monthly rent report

Rent in Lethbridge remains among the lowest of the 60 municipalities included in a report looking at rents in June.

According to the National Rent Report from rentals.ca and Urbanation, last month Lethbridge was 51st on the list with the average price for a one-bedroom unit in the city costing on average $1,325 per month, up 1.6 per cent from the previous month, but down 2.8 per cent from June of last year. A two-bedroom unit on average costs $1,617 per month, seeing a fraction of a per centre uptick from May and up 4.7 per cent increase from June of last year.

Seven other cities in the province were also on the list, with Calgary ending up 43rd, Airdrie 48th, Edmonton 50th, Red Deer 53rd, Fort McMurray 56th, Medicine Hat 57th, and Lloydminster 58th.

Year-over-year rent in Alberta saw a three per cent decline in June.
