Starting today, speeds will be reduced on a portion of Whoop-Up Drive this week for concrete pouring.
Crews will pour high-performance concrete for the bridge’s expansion joints. To minimize vibration and ensure the integrity of the pour, westbound motorists will be subject to a temporary speed reduction.
- Westbound traffic will be reduced to 30 km/h, while driving over the bridge.
- Signage will alert motorists ahead of the work zone, with two reminder signs within the zone.
- The reduced speed limit is expected to be in place until Friday.
“The concrete pour does not impact the peak hour lane changes introduced Aug. 20. Two westbound lanes will continue to open from 2–8 p.m. to accommodate the afternoon and evening commute. Eastbound traffic on the bridge is limited to a single lane during these times,” the City notes.
