Wind warning issued for Lethbridge

It is going to be a gusty Monday in Lethbridge and the surrounding area.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning for wind. The agency says gusts will increase to 110 kilometres per hour Monday morning.

Officials note that the strongest gusts will be felt west of Highway 2 between Cardston and Fort Macleod. Motorists are advised to expect potentially difficult driving conditions, and high-sided vehicles could be pushed around by the wind.

Damage to roofs, fences and other property is possible, with residents advised to secure any loose objects.

Environment Canada says gusts will weaken early Monday evening.

Full weather advisories are available on the Environment Canada website.
