The Lethbridge and District Agricultural Society has been keeping busy.
Director Cody McIntosh said the team has been hard at work, with the board of directors focusing on its primary objectives, including engaging with the community.
“There’s been a lot of behind-the-scenes work with strategic work and business planning work that’s been going on, but now we’re actually here in the community and hearing from the residents,” McIntosh said.
The society is a part of this week’s annual Ag Expo at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre. McIntosh said events like Ag Expo are a great way to connect with residents.

McIntosh added that the group’s strategic plan aims to plan their goals for the next six months to a year. “We’re all excited to not only be in the boardroom making the plan, but out on the floor, talking to people and delivering these events,” he said.

In addition to Ag Expo, McIntosh stated the society is looking forward to Aggie Days.
The event returns to Lethbridge for the first time since 2019 and will be at the Trade and Convention Centre March 25-26.
Aggie Days will offer educational displays for local students in grades four to six. Students will be able to check out different exhibits and speak with professionals in the industry.
The ag society is working alongside Agriculture for Life and Excite Lethbridge to host the two-day event.

The LDAS has also launched a community survey to gather feedback on what residents are looking for in regard to the work being done by the society.
The survey is available on the society website.
