Yard waste sites will close for the season at the end of the month

Lethbridge’s three yard waste sites will be closing up for the season at the end of this month.

The sites, located along Bridge Drive West, Stafford Drive North and 28 Avenue South, will be closed as of next Saturday (Nov. 30).

The City says 1.89-million kilograms of yard waste has been collected since this spring, which is a big increase of nearly 500-thousand kilograms from 2018. That waste will be composted and used in parks around the city, and for ground remediation at the landfill.

If you still have yard waste to get rid of after the sites close, you can take it to the landfill for composting between Dec. 1 and Mar. 31.
