Seedy Saturday, K-Pop Con, and Beginner Beading are all on-tap in April at the Lethbridge Public Library.
Environment Lethbridge partners up for Seedy Saturday, which returns Apr. 11 at the Main Branch from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event promotes local food and horticulture with exhibitors, workshops, and a seed swap. There’s also free compost, so bring your own container.
“It’s always a great partnership,” says Online Services Librarian Jennifer McDevitt. “New this year, there’s going to be a plant exchange.”
On Apr. 11, celebrate all things K-pop at the K-Pop Con from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Crossings Branch.
Join other fans for a fun-filled afternoon of random play dance, photocard trading, and Name That Tune.
“I’m really excited about this one. I’m a big K-pop fan. We’re going to have a big afternoon,” says McDevitt. “There’s an escape room. It’s going to be super fun. All ages are invited.”
Beginner Beading runs Apr. 13, 20 and 27 at the Main Branch from 6-8 p.m.
The activity is an evening of culture sharing and learning to bead earrings, grad caps, and other designs.
“Our Indigenous Services team is putting that on. You learn about Indigenous culture and really connect with that. It’s registration on the website, but we welcome drop-ins for that,” adds McDevitt.
According to McDevitt, the library is also welcoming entries for an art display contest, which starts Apr. 1. “Anyone 13 and up. Submission guidelines are on our website. We’re taking submissions until Apr. 19, and we’re going to have a public vote the last week of April.”
