Lethbridge County is inviting people interested in agricultural innovation and sustainability to attend the Innovations in the Field event in June.
The free event, co-hosted by Foothills Forage and Grazing Association, will feature presentations, practical demonstrations and opportunities for producers to connect with local organizations and others working in the agriculture sector.
County officials said the event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the county’s Nolan Hill grader camp, located south of the Oldman River and west of Highway 845.
Scheduled sessions will focus on pest management, cattle water quality, crop sampling techniques and renewable energy options for agricultural operations.
Participants can also join breakout sessions covering pasture assessments and strategies for identifying and controlling invasive weeds.
Matthew Wells, specialist for rural extension with Lethbridge County, said the municipality is excited to host the event in partnership with the forage and grazing association.
“This is a great opportunity for producers to gain relevant, practical knowledge on the latest innovations in agriculture and learn new skills alongside their peers,” Wells said.
Local organizations will also host information booths throughout the day.
Organizers said complimentary lunch and parking will be provided. The event is expected to proceed rain or shine.
