Two members of the Lethbridge Hurricanes organization have been drafted to the National Hockey League.
Logan Stuart was selected by the Washington Capitals in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, chosen in the seventh round (208th overall) over the weekend.
The 2008-born forward, originally from Manhattan Beach, California, signed with the Lethbridge club in June and is set to lace up for the Hurricanes next season.
His signing with Lethbridge followed the past two seasons with the U.S. National Team Development Program. In 80 regular season games during the 2025-26 campaign, Stuart scored 13 goals and had 32 assists, along with 16 penalty minutes.
Additionally, Stuart collected 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition.
The 18-year-old represented the United States at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge, skating in three games and recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge. He helped Team USA win its first Prospects Challenge Championship.
Over the last two years, Stuart skated in 169 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels, scoring 29 goals and dishing out 61 assists, along with 48 penalty minutes.
The forward was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round (36th overall) of the 2023 WHL US Priority Draft. Stuart is the son of former NHL defenseman Brad Stuart, who spent four seasons in the WHL and 18 in the NHL. Stuart’s older brother is Jake Stuart, whose rights were acquired by Lethbridge from the Brandon Wheat Kings in May.
