Lethbridge County offers scholarships to post-secondary students

In support of residents pursuing post-secondary studies, Lethbridge County is once again offering scholarships and bursaries under two programs.

The county’s Post-Secondary Bursary program, now in its sixth year, will award three students with $1,500 each. Eligible applicants will be entering their first year of post-secondary education at an accredited institution, including trade schools.

It’s important to note applicants do not have to be current high-school students. Mature students are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside in Lethbridge County.

Consideration will be given to applicants based on academic standing and good citizenship demonstrated through community participation. The application deadline for the bursary program is June 1 with the awards being disbursed by Aug. 31 with proof of enrolment.

The Community Benefit Scholarship is also being offered through the County’s collaboration with the Stirling Wind Project. Up to two scholarships will be awarded at up to $2,000 each. Eligible applicants include current high-achieving high-school students planning to further their studies in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics within the following year.

The application deadline for the Community Benefit Scholarship is July 31 with recipient(s) being notified by Sept. 1.

Eligibility requirements and applications for both programs are available online or at the County’s Lethbridge Administration Office.
