Nearly a dozen U of L researchers awarded $1.8 million in grants

Nearly a dozen University of Lethbridge researchers have been awarded a variety of grants worth about $1.8-million.

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Discovery Grants will be paid in installments of anywhere from one to five years.

Neuroscience professor, Dr. Gerlinde Metz, received the largest grant worth $510,000.

She and her research team are exploring early life stress and its effects on brain development.

Out of the 14 applications submitted by U of L researchers, 11 were awarded funding.
