The Birds of Prey Centre is holding its Insect Discovery Day on Saturday, Aug. 12.
Those taking part can bug out over activities like pond dipping, butterfly catching, and identifying local insects. Community members who attend are also able to bring their own bugs they’ve caught around the backyard or farm to be identified by experts.
The day won’t just be about bugs, there will also be some bird flight demonstrations, photos with owls, and feeding the ducks.
Also in attendance will be the Entomological Society of Alberta as well as Maureen Sexsmith-West from Ladybug Arborist.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
