Police investigate hate-motivated vandalism

Lethbridge police are investigating hate-motivated vandalism at a north side business.

Officers were called to the incident on Dec. 16 around 3:30 a.m. and say part of the business’s entranceway window had been shattered and a political message spray-painted in red on a nearby exterior wall.

“Video evidence further revealed that a single individual was responsible for the damage, but that they did not try to enter the building,” reads a news release from LPS. “Given the political nature of the graffiti, police consider the incident to be a hate-motivated offence and are asking anyone with information to call 403-328-4444 and reference file 23028949.”

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
