Police have charged a 25-year-old man with sexual interference in connection to an alleged incident where a teen girl was assaulted at a Northside playground.
According to the Lethbridge Police Service, officers responded to the Westminster playground just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 17th after they received reports that three 13-year-old girls were being followed and harassed by a man. The man is alleged to have repeatedly asked the trio to “engage in sexual activity.” The man is said to have allegedly inappropriately touched one of the girls during their interaction.
Police are said to have located the man a short ways from the area after they arrived at the scene. Burton Franklin Vielle is facing charges of sexual interference and criminal harassment. He remains in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
