‘No Spray Zone’ sign pick up deadline approaching for County Residents

County residents who don’t want weed control spraying done next to their property have to pick up their “No Spray Zone” signs from the municipality before Wednesday.

According to the County of Lethbridge any day after May 1st, crews will start their spraying program to help control weeds on municipal roads. The spray work is done on county roads along with some numbered highways during the growing season. Spray trucks use a low-drift nozzle to help make sure that the spray is going where it is intended and workers monitor wind speed and direction as well.

Those who do not want to have roadside spraying done next to their property can enter into an agreement with the municipality and put up a “No Spray Zone” sign provided by the municipality. The agreements need to be renewed yearly and part of the agreement is the land owner will then be responsible for weed control in that area.

“No Spray Zone” signs need to be picked up from the county administration office before Wednesday, May 1st.
