Police investigating break and enter, vandalism of the Coalhurst Community Centre

Anyone with information about the break-in and vandalization of the Coalhurst Community Centre is being asked to come forward.

According to the Town of Coalhurst, on Monday, April 29th the local volunteer fire department was dispatched to the community centre around 5 a.m. after the fire alarm was set off. When firefighters arrived at the building there was no fire, instead, they found the community centre had been broken into and allegedly vandalized.

A post on the municipality’s Facebook page reads, “Among other things, dishes were broken and fire extinguishers were discharged within the building.”

Coaldale RCMP is investigating the incident and looking for witnesses who possibly heard or saw something suspicious around the Community Centre around the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or the town.
