Cassie returns as mayoral candidate in upcoming Municipal Election

Dennis Cassie is running for the position of mayor in Coalhurst.

Cassie has served as a member of Town Council for 20 years, including 14 years as mayor.

“Elections provide an opportunity for community voices to be heard and for change to happen,” says Cassie. “I’ve been in Coalhurst for nearly 35 years, raised our son here and have actively participated in Coalhurst’s growth – while advocating for our needs with the province.”

Over the years, Cassie has also had an active role in the Highway 3 twinning project and has worked with and served on several boards, including FCSS, the Green Acres Foundation and Community Futures Lethbridge Region.

Building livable and welcoming spaces for everyone is one of Cassie’s goals if elected mayor.

Cassie’s goals also include strengthening infrastructure through increased grant funding and investment and enhance recognition and support for emergency services, preparedness and disaster readiness.

With decades of dedication to Coalhurst, Cassie continues to put community first, the mayoral candidate notes.
