Hurricanes’ Logan Stuart receives WHL Rookie of the Week honours

A member of the Lethbridge Hurricanes has been awarded for his efforts.

Forward Logan Stuart has been named the Ricky’s WHL Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 11.

The 18-year-old from Manhattan Beach, California scored three goals and dished out three assists, boasting a plus-five rating, as the Hurricanes swept a three-game U.S. Division road trip.

The ‘Canes earned a 5-3 win over the Tri-City Americans on Oct. 7, a 4-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs on Oct. 9, and a 4-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild on Oct. 10.

Stuart did not record a point in the Oct. 7 win, but notched two points (one goal, one assist) in the Oct. 9 victory, which helped Lethbridge secure the WHL In-Season Cup.

The rookie got a power-play assist to Gavin Lesiuk’s game-opening goal before registering his own goal for the game, with 5:16 left to go in the first period. It was Stuart’s fourth goal of the season, and he went on to be named first star of the game.

The following night, Stuart scored two goals and had two assists to help the Hurricanes beat the Wild 4-1 and retain the WHL In-Season Cup. The 18-year-old scored the first goal of the game in the second period, on a power-play with 4:40 remaining in the period. Later, at the 1:25 mark of the third, Stuart scored his sixth goal of the 2026-27 campaign.

He added assists on third period goals by Dayne Beuker and Cohen Pentney and was named the first star of the game.

The rookie leads the Hurricanes in scoring and is tied for third in points among all WHL skaters. In eight games so far this season, Stuart has six goals and six assists, with his six goals enough to have him tied for third across the entire league.

Stuart was selected with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft. He signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Lethbridge club on June 5, 2026. He then went on to be selected by the Washington Capitals in the seventh round, 208th overall, in the 2026 NHL Draft.

Stuart follows teammate Dayne Beuker, who was named the first Ricky’s WHL Rookie of the Week of the season last month.
