Milk River Health Centre emergency department closed temporarily

An unexpected shortage of clinical personnel has prompted the temporary closure of the Milk River Health Centre emergency department.

Alberta Health Services said the emergency department will be closed until 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Nursing staff will remain on site to care for long-term care residents during the closure.

Emergency calls will be diverted to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge and the Raymond Health Centre.

Residents needing emergency care are advised to use those facilities or call Health Link at 811 for non-emergency health-related questions.
