City of Lethbridge encourages you to ‘Give It a Try’ at community event

A new partnership encourages you to Give It a Try at the City of Lethbridge’s upcoming Community Conversation event Jan. 29 from 3-7 p.m. at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

The collaboration between the City’s Recreation and Culture department and Lethbridge Sport Council is a one-stop chance for residents to share feedback on City projects and connect with staff and community partners.

A section of the ice surface will transform into a hands-on Alberta Winter Games and Olympic and Paralympic Games-inspired activity zone from 5-7 p.m.

Residents of all ages can step onto the ice and try something new every 30 minutes.

  • 5 p.m. – Ringette with the Lethbridge Ringette Association
  • 5:30 p.m. – Figure skating with the Lethbridge Skating Club
  • 6 p.m. – Speed skating with the Lethbridge Speed Skating Association
  • 6:30 p.m. – Hockey with the Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association

Sport specialists will be on the ice to guide participants and answer questions, and all equipment will be provided.

“Stop by, lace up and give it a try. Join this fun new addition to Community Conversation and help celebrate sport, community and the joy of trying something new,” the City notes.
