Interfaith Food Bank to host forum on food insecurity

Community members are invited to come together to discuss food insecurity.

The Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge is set to host a forum titled ‘Beyond the Numbers, Voices of Food Insecurity’, this month.

The society said that food insecurity is about “more than not having enough food”.

The forum will offer residents the chance to share their story and hear stories from neighbours about the issues they face to better understand food insecurity. Officials added that it will feature data from the food bank and provide a chance to create dialogue on how issues related to food insecurity can be addressed properly and efficiently.

The free community forum is slated for Friday, Oct. 23 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Interfaith Food Bank Co-op Community Kitchen. The event is open to everyone.

More on the work of the Interfaith Food Bank is available on the society website.
