Lethbridge’s green cart collection switches to bi-weekly schedule

With the cooler seasons upon us, green cart collection in Lethbridge has shifted to its bi-weekly schedule.

The change took effect on Nov. 3, with the City of Lethbridge noting that the seasonal weekly approach to organics collection helps manage higher volumes of yard waste and reduce funky smells during the warmer months.

Officials noted that there have been issues reported about the Waste Wizard and Lethbridge Loop app not displaying green cart collection dates for users. The City said it is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Residents can view their collection schedule through the Composting and Green Carts webpage, or contact 311 during business hours.

BATTERY COLLECTION

The Curbside Battery Collection Program is set to make a return this month.

Between Nov. 17-27, on green cart collection days, residents can place bagged batteries on the lid of their green cart. Residents are asked to not put batteries out for collection before the program begins.

More information on battery collection is available on the City of Lethbridge website.
