New custom parchment to be given to Lethbridge nursing grads

LETHBRIDGE, AB – People graduating from nursing at the U of L and Lethbridge College will be getting a special diploma.

The two local post-secondaries have approved a new parchment for grads of the Nursing Education in Southwestern Alberta program.

That paper will now feature the names, logos, and signatures of officers from both institutions, which reflects the long-standing nursing collaboration between the College and University.

This has been a four year program which has students taking the first two years of nursing studies at the College before finishing the final two years at the U of L to get their Bachelor of Nursing Degree.

“This parchment is an acknowledgement of the important role both the U of L and the college play in the education of our students and in support of the health-care system. We are proud that students will be able to reflect on their entire educational journey when they receive their parchment,” says Dr. Samantha Lenci, Lethbridge College provost and vice-president academic.

The program first launched back in 2002.
