LETHBRIDGE, AB – Businesses in Lethbridge’s downtown core are hoping you shop local as much as possible this holiday season.
As an incentive, Downtown BRZ Ambassadors will be hitting the streets and handing out gift cards from local businesses like the Penny Coffee House, Bread Milk and Honey, and Arise.
Marketing Coordinator Emily Chong says the BRZ is also making it really easy to get around by launching the Free Parking Friday initiative for the month of December up to and including Christmas Eve.
“There’s over 500 businesses and services that would welcome the community with open arms. There’s so much to explore and so much to do so we hope to see everybody in downtown Lethbridge this holiday season.”
While Free Parking Friday is a downtown initiative, Chong says it’s important to support local businesses outside of the downtown core as well.
Chong, and Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce CEO Cyndi Voss, joined Mayor Blaine Hyggen Monday to speak to media about supporting local organizations as he lit the City Hall Christmas Tree.
