Downtown Lethbridge’s History and Beer Tour returns June 1

Beer, buds and local history are at the forefront June 1 at the first and only History and Beer Tour this year.

“It’s going to be going around to four local spots,” says Downtown Lethbridge BRZ ambassador Nathan Scarrow. Each ticket includes a taster-sized brew and appetizers.

There will be a guided tour with in-person history from local history buff Belinda Crowson starting at 1 p.m. At each stop, there will also be beer-tasting tips courtesy of beer connoisseur Stephen Depish.

Crowson, Scarrow says, will be sharing local history about the various spots along the way. “At each stop, Depish will tell participants all about the different beers and how to properly enjoy them.”

Self-guided tours run from 1 to 5 p.m.

The History and Beer Tour coincides with downtown’s four-day Foodie Fest.

“There’s everything from food trucks to a Latin American street party May 30,” adds Scarrow. “Celebrating local food and local history.”

Scarrow says the History and Beer Tour is a great opportunity to get out with friends or family. “And learn more about our city’s history, while enjoying some local brews and bites.”
