COALDALE, AB – If you’d like to get a look-see at an electric zamboni Coaldale is the place to be.
The town recently purchased a brand new electric ice cleaning machine, thanks to $50,000 in funding through a special agreement with the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA).
The whole purpose of this agreement is to support cities and towns in Alberta in their transition to electric-fuelled transportation.
Coaldale Recreation Director, Russ Tanner says this new zamboni is quieter and will produce less emissions which will result in better air quality inside the rink.
Friends of the Arena also provided $35,000 toward buying the new zamboni.
