Calgary man arrested west of Nanton with stolen vehicle

A Calgary man is facing a list of charges after a vehicle was stolen in Claresholm and found west of Nanton.

RCMP say a pick-up truck was taken last Thursday (July 4) from a home in Claresholm and later in the day was seen on a farm yard near Stavely.

Mounties went on patrol and eventually tracked the vehicle to a rural location where it was found abandoned near Highway 22.

An RCMP K-9 team was called in and located the suspect in a hilly forested area.

42 year old Shaun Storie is facing charges of stolen property, flight from police, resisting arrest as well as being in possession of carfentanil and cocaine.

Storie will appear in court in Fort Macleod on Wednesday, July 10.
