Lethbridge man faces charges for allegedly selling ammunition despite lifetime firearms ban

A 58-year-old Lethbridge man is facing a handful of charges for selling firearms out of his home, despite being under a lifetime firearms ban.

According to police on June 9, the Lethbridge Police Service Critical Incident Team executed a search warrant at a home along the 1700 block of 16 Avenue South, after receiving a tip that a man was selling ammunition out of the home. During the search police seized ammunition, replica firearms, a lock-pick set and key-cut devices.

Mark Lawrence Kimura is facing charges for possession of ammunition while prohibited from doing so, offer to transfer a firearm while not authorized to do so and possession of break-and-enter tools.

According to officials, this was a “high-risk investigation” by the Lethbridge Police Service Property Crimes Unit and ALERT.

Kimura was released from custody and is next scheduled to appear in court on June 16th.
