One man is facing various charges in connection to an attempted grocery store robbery in Taber. The Taber Police Service says the lone man went into the store around 5:30 p.m. on June 30, wearing a mask.
“The male selected an item and then approached the till. The male produced a knife and demanded money from the cashier,” the police service says. “The male then fled the store and rode off on a bicycle.”
Officers identified Matthew Lee Unser, a 35-year-old Taber resident and arrested him on July 4 without incident.
He faces charges of attempted robbery, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. He was remanded in custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 6 in Lethbridge.
