Taber byelection set for September 7th

The Town of Taber has announced the dates of their upcoming municipal byelection, with residents scheduled to hit the polls to fill the vacant seat on town council in September.

Interested candidates have until Nomination Day, August 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to put their name forward for the election. To be eligible for nomination, someone must have lived in Taber for at least six months before July 7th and be a Canadian citizen 18 years old or older.

The byelection will be held on September 7th, with voting open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Taber Community Centre Auditorium. According to the town, the date and time for early voting is still to be announced.

The byelection was called after Town of Taber Councilor Alf Rudd announced his resignation on June 26th after accepting a job in the municipality.

More information, including the candidate package can be found on the Town of Taber’s website.
