Taber police officer takes home gold at World Police and Fire Games

A Taber police officer took home a gold medal at the World Police and Fire Games in Winnipeg this weekend.  

Constable Leighton Motz competed in the toughest competitor alive competition, which includes a 5K run, shot put, 100 metre dash, 100 metre swim, 20-foot rope, bench Press, pull-ups, and an obstacle course. 

“We are pleased to announce that Constable Motz took home a gold medal in the 30+ age, heavyweight category,” reads a post on Facebook from the Taber Police Service. “Way to represent the Taber Police Service Constable Motz!” 

The games are an Olympic style competition with more than 85 hundred athletes from 50 countries competing in more than 60 sports.
