Take in local artists every Wednesday in August at Galt Gardens

The Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge along with the Southern Alberta Art Gallery are inviting residents to its garden pARTy.

Every Wednesday in August, community members can head down to Galt Gardens from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and enjoy some live music, performance art, and art activities at the pergola.

Tara Gillanders, AAC Projects Manager, says “Have a creative break in the middle of the Week! Listening to music or making something artistic—at any age—can really transform a ho-hum day.”

“Plus, we love collaborating with the SAAG and free outreach activities really bring out community together,” adds Gillanders.

On August 2nd, Willy Big Bull will be performing with Collaborative Yarn Bombing with Madeson Singh happening. August 9th will see HIBIKIYA with dancer Sandra Lamouche and puppet making with Faye Heavy Shield. August 16th, the Bridge Brass Quintet will be performing with Angeline Simon doing some air dry clay vases. The final garden pARTy, on august 23rd, will feature the Little Lethbridge Opera Theatre and circular weaving with Mary-Anne McTrowe.

The garden pARTy is a collaboration with the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery, with funding provided by the City of Lethbridge.
