Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement in Lethbridge because of wildfire smoke.
“Smoke is causing poor air quality and reduced visibility. Wildfire smoke concentrations can fluctuate over short distances and vary considerably from hour to hour,” reads the statement. “The smoke is expected to move out of the area by the weekend. Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations.”
Environment Canada advises residents to try to limit their exposure to the smoke, especially people with lung or heart disease, seniors and children.
