Average rent for one-bedroom up 1.8 per cent year-over-year in Lethbridge: report

The latest data from Rentals.ca and Urbanation show a one-bedroom rental in Lethbridge, on average, costs $1,239. A two-bedroom unit averages $1,432.

Year-over-year there was an increase of 1.8 per cent for one bedroom and 1.9 for two bedrooms in Lethbridge.

The city ranked 32nd out of 35 Canadian cities on the list of rental costs.

Nationally, asking rents increased 8.4 per cent year-over-year in November. Asking rent for all residential property types across the country averaged $2,174 in November.

“Rent inflation in Canada is slowly starting to moderate, a trend being led by a notable slowdown in rents in the country’s most expensive big cities of Vancouver and Toronto. Renters are adjusting to record high housing costs by shifting into less expensive markets,” said Shaun Hildebrand, president of Urbanation.

The cheapest place to rent on the list is Saskatoon and the most expensive is Vancouver.
