City looks for new partners to host Oki signs

The city wants to set up more Oki signs around Lethbridge next year.

Last fall the city unveiled six new signs with the Blackfoot greeting, which permanently reside at community partner locations. The city now wants to partner with more organizations who want one of the signs.

“Interested organizations need to be able to demonstrate how their organization is working towards Reconciliation locally and identify opportunities to integrate Blackfoot culture and language into their regular business activities,” reads a news release from the city.

Applications are open on the city’s website until Jan. 15 and the city will seek out Indigenous artists for the project in the new year.
