New pathway coming to south Lethbridge

Construction is moving ahead on Pathway 17.

It is a new multi-use trail that is set to run along 43 Street South and South Parkside Drive South. The City of Lethbridge says once it is finished, it will link existing routes to create a continual loop, boosting the walking and cycling experience for the community.

The first phase of construction starts on Monday, August 11.

It will include some traffic disruptions and detours, including:

  • The intersection of 43 Street South and 20 Avenue South will be closed;
  • Drivers are asked to use Forestry Road South (follow the posted detour signs);
  • Local traffic can access 20 Avenue South from the west at 40 Street South/Cedar Road South.

The intersection is expected to reopen on Saturday, August 16.

More information on Pathway 17 is available at the Get Involved Lethbridge website, with the project also listed on the City WebMap.
