UPDATE: Crowsnest Pass RCMP continue to search for five-year-old boy

UPDATE: RCMP continue to search for six-year-old Darius Macdougall, who was last seen around 11:33 a.m. on Sunday near the Island Lake Campground.

RCMP Sargent Mark Amatto, along with Southwest Alberta Region Search and Rescue member Peter Alfred, spoke to the media Monday afternoon. The search for the six-year-old is ongoing and will continue overnight, with members of the RCMP, SAR, RCMP drones, which have thermal imaging, RCMP dogs and ascend helicopters.

Officials are advising the community that Macdougall is autistic and was out with six family members when he was separated from the group.

Officials are appreciative of the community’s offer to help with the search, but are being advised that it will interfere with the search and contaminate the area.

Police say they will provide more information as it becomes available.

Crowsnest Pass RCMP need help locating a missing six-year-old boy, Darius Macdougall.

Macdougall was last seen walking with his family two-and-a-half miles south of Crowsnest Pass, near Island Lake Campground Sept. 21.

The missing boy has a medical issue, which may prevent him from responding to others.

The searchers were supported by drones, dogs and helicopters.

Macdougall is described as four feet tall with short brown hair and last seen wearing blue/grey hoodie and sweats.
