College Drive South intersection reopening after summer construction

The College Drive South and 28 Avenue/Tudor Boulevard South intersection is expected to reopen following completion of construction on a new roundabout.

The reopening Tuesday will remove the detours that have been in place during construction.

Lethbridge Transit customers are advised that service on routes 2 and 62 will also return to regular routing in the area.

The city said the project forms part of its 2026 Intersection Improvements Program, which is focused on improving safety and traffic movement.

Crews reconstructed the roadway, improved lighting, moved a bus stop and completed landscaping work around the intersection.

The roundabout is intended to keep traffic moving while improving safety through slower vehicle speeds and fewer opportunities for serious collisions.

Drivers are encouraged to review roundabout rules before using the new intersection. The city is asking motorists to remember the SLOWERS acronym:

Slow down
Lane selection before entering
Observe crosswalks
Wait for circulating traffic
Enter when safe
Right signal to exit
Scan for pedestrians again
