LETHBRIDGE, AB. – A man from the Piikani First Nation has pleaded not guilty to two charges in relation to the death of a teenage boy last summer.
Tregan Crow Eagle, 16 was first reported missing from his home in Brocket in July 2020. His body was found on the Piikani Nation a few days later and an autopsy determined that his death was a homicide.
Further investigation led to charges of second-degree murder and causing an indignity to human remains being laid against 37 year old Dustin Big Bull in October.
Big Bull pleaded not guilty to both charges on Tuesday this week and chose to be tried by a judge and jury.
His matter has been adjourned over to March 16th when it’s expected that his trial dates will be scheduled.
