COALDALE, AB – A public engagement plan has been put in place which will look at the possibility of building a new skate park in Coaldale.

Town Council will be partnering with a working group to develop a proposal.

Russ Tanner, Coaldale’s Director of Recreation and Community Development, says this idea of updating or building a new skate park originally came during the mountain bike park project.

“Our hope is to continue building on the success we’ve seen in the mountain bike
park and make sure our recreational facilities cater to all members of the community.
Exploring the option to have an upgraded skate park will keep Coaldale on track to
becoming Southern Alberta’s recreational hub,” says Tanner.

He notes there is a strong appetite for more recreation-focused amenities in Coaldale and this would just be another piece of that puzzle.

The working group will start meeting early in 2022.
