Woman facing dangerous driving charges in connection to fatal pedestrian collision in January

Lethbridge police have laid charges in connection to a collision that killed a 66-year-old man in January.

Police responded to the collision between two people and a truck at the intersection of 26 Ave and 28 St. N on January 17 and say the man was deceased at the scene. A 62-year-old woman who was also struck was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and police say she remains in the hospital.

An investigation determined the truck made a left turn onto 28 St. N and hit the two people as they crossed the crosswalk.

Bobbi Raquel Whillans, 33, of Lethbridge, faces charges of dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. She is scheduled to attend court on May 25.
