Lethbridge County has named Cole Beck as the municipalities next Chief Administrative Officer. According to a release from the county, Beck has lived in the Lethbridge area for the last 15 years and is coming to the position from Alberta Health Services.
According to the incoming CAO, he is looking forward to joining the county’s team and supporting its operations and strategic objectives. Explaining his background leading major capital infrastructure project teams and multidisciplinary operations at AHS will his him “propel Lethbridge County’s success.”
“While the healthcare sector and municipal government operate in distinct contexts, there are valuable parallels in terms of complex project management, stakeholder engagement, and delivering essential services to the community,” Beck says. “I am excited to apply my expertise in these areas to support Lethbridge County’s municipal operations and work collaboratively with the talented teams already in place to find synergies and innovative approaches that will contribute to the County’s growth, sustainability, and the well-being of its residents.”
He calls the county’s record investment and economic growth and consistent economic growth remarkable, adding he is looking forward to working with council and the teams involved to continue to build on these accomplishments and more.
Reeve Tory Campbell says council is excited for Beck to join the team, explaining the CAO role is unique as it requires a broad range of skills.
“Council would like to thank Larry Randle, Director of Community Services and Interim CAO, for working with Council as CAO over the last 4 months,” Campbell says. “We’re fortunate to have a great senior leadership team at Lethbridge County, thank you to all those that stepped up during this transition.”
Beck will replace former CAO Ann Mitchell and is set to start his new position on June 12th.
