Pincher Creek RCMP looking for Lethbridge man in connection to theft, identity theft incident

Pincher Creek RCMP are looking for information regarding the whereabouts of a Lethbridge man believed to be involved in a theft earlier this month.

Officers received a call regarding a theft of power tools in the Pincher Creek area on Wednesday, May 10th. Witnesses were able to provide a well detailed description of the males that were responsible with RCMP able to locate and make an arrest.

The two males arrested were also found to be in possession of fentanyl and one of the males had methamphetamine. Officers seized approximately 15 grams of fentanyl and 2 grams of methamphetamine.

30-year-old Nelson Koci, and a second suspect, who identified himself as Kyle Rains, a 39-year old from Lethbridge, were charged with possession of stolen property.

However, since the initial arrest, police in Pincher Creek believe the second suspect is actually 31-year-old Carter Rains, who used another name unlawfully. A warrant has now been issued for Carter Rains for a charge of identity theft, and the subsequent original charges stemming from the May 10th incident.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Carter Rains are asked to contact the Pincher Creek RCMP at 403-627-6000, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
