Police look to identify man involved in weekend stabbing

Lethbridge Police are looking to identify an unknown male involved in an incident over the weekend which resulted in a man being taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds.

According to police around 1:37 a.m. on Saturday, June 10th officers responded to a report of a physical altercation in the 400 block area of Mayor Magrath Drive South. Officials say shortly after they received a second call reporting an injured male who entered a nearby business asking for help. When police arrived at the business they found a 38-year-old man whose injuries were the result of a stabbing; he was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital.

After further investigation police determined the victim was injured “after he and an acquaintance were involved in a physical altercation with an unknown male.” According to police, the investigation is ongoing and they are looking to identify and locate the unknown male. He is described as Indigenous, approximately 20-25 years old, with short hair, last seen wearing a grey sweater, black shorts and black and white shoes.
