Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services is issuing a fire advisory for parks in the river valley area due to a lack of precipitation and current dry conditions.
Under the advisory recreational fires in the fire pits provided and propane-fueled cooking appliances are allowed, but officials are asking residents to properly dispose of smoking material. By issuing the advisory Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services are advising residents of the wildfire risk in the river valley parks.
According to officials, “Lethbridge Fire & EMS will be monitoring the fire risk conditions and make changes when necessary.”
If conditions get worse, officials say, the advisory could be upgraded to a restriction or fire ban.
