A collision between a semi-truck and an SUV on Highway 3 resulted in the death of a 78-year-old man.
According to Coaldale RCMP, officers responded to the two-vehicle collision at Highway 3 and Highway 509 at 6:14 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27th. According to police, when emergency crews arrived on scene, they found the driver and lone occupant of the SUV, a 78-year-old man from Magrath, deceased. According to Mounties, the semi-driver was uninjured.
Police say the initial investigation found the semi was slowing down and making a left-hand turn when the SUV struck it from behind. Officers reportedly remained on the scene for several hours investigating.
