Lethbridge man arrested after south side crash; charged with impaired driving

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge man is facing a long list of charges, accused of impaired driving and resisting arrest.

It all happened Tuesday night (Nov. 23) when a 911 caller reported a vehicle had run a red light on Stafford Drive and 6th Avenue South.

Police arrived on scene and found the driver behind the wheel, unresponsive and the car still running and in drive.

Officers broke a window to try and get the person out, however the driver allegedly resisted arrest. The man eventually though was put into handcuffs with the help of the K-9 unit.

40 year old Darrell Lamar Russell is also facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle and failing to comply with release conditions.

Russell remains in jail awaiting a release hearing.
